I am a geographer interested in how societies shape and are shaped by environmental change, particularly during periods of social, economic and political transformation. My research examines how processes such as post-socialism, globalisation, demographic change and climate change reshape landscapes, land use and livelihoods, and influence how communities use, value and manage their environments. I am particularly interested in how these changes affect people’s relationships with place, community and cultural identity, and in the implications for social and environmental justice.
I have extensive experience in higher education, specialising in geography and interdisciplinary studies. I have a strong record in curriculum development, student engagement and leadership, with a focus on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. As Programme Leader for BSc Geography (Hons) at Bournemouth University, I have led curriculum redesigns to ensure our program remains relevant and adaptable, consistently achieving high student satisfaction ratings. I have also organized field trips and placement co-creation experiences in the UK, Croatia, and Zambia, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities. Additionally, I support students through dedicated pastoral care and guidance.
